ABOUT EJHS BAND

"Marching kids hate it during practice, love it during competitions and miss it when it's over"

According to urban dictionary, MARCHING BAND is:
1. A cult of the top students in the school, playing as one, moving as one, becoming one.
2. The greatest thing I've ever experienced.

By all accounts, East Jessamine Band is a typical high school 4A marching band program. A member of KMEA. Lead by Director, Tim Johnson.

Each season begins just before school starts, as dedicated and talented students embark upon "band camp" for about three weeks of training to play as one, move as one and become one.  Students are also building lifetime friendships.

Being a member means, after school rehearsals, Saturday rehearsals, football games, parades, contests, concert band, jazz band and pep band.
